Filing for a PPO

Our non-profit organization is committed to helping individuals seeking a Personal Protection Order (PPO). On this page, we provide step-by-step instructions on how to file for a PPO, as well as what documents are required and how to properly fill them out. We also provide guidance on how to submit the paperwork to the courthouse. With our help, you can get the protection you need.

GETTING A PPO PACKET TO FILL OUT

The PPO Office is currently open to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. (Closed during lunch 12:00 - 1:00)  The PPO Office is located on Floor 3R of the Veteran's Memorial Courthouse (313 W. Kalamazoo St., Lansing, MI 48933).  You can obtain PPO paperwork from our office or from the Circuit Court Clerk's Office on the first floor.  You can take the paperwork home to complete, or you may stay at the courthouse to complete your paperwork during business hours.  If you prefer to obtain and fill out the paperwork remotely, the forms are also available here on EVE's website. [See PPO Forms]

FILING YOUR PPO PAPERWORK WITH THE COURT

Completed PPO paperwork must be filed in person at the Circuit Court Clerk's Office on the first floor of the Veteran's Memorial Courthouse.  The Court is NOT currently PPO accepting paperwork via email or fax. The clerk's office is open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.  It is free to file PPO paperwork. Filings are public and NOT kept confidential from the person you are filing against.
